Cross-Section Limits
In MkaPEB, the cross section selected for each member Web-Tapered Member satisfies the limits and recommendations presented in the below codes, and requirements.
[1] Frame Design Using Web-Tapered Members

The AISC Design Guide Frame Design Using Web-Tapered Members [1], published by the American Institute of Steel Construction, is based on the AISC Specification for Structural Steel Buildings. It provides guidance on applying the Specification’s provisions to the design of web-tapered members and frames composed of web-tapered members.
[2] Specification for Structural Steel Buildings

The Specification for Structural Steel Buildings, AISC 360-22 [2], published by the American Institute of Steel Construction, is the primary U.S. standard that defines the design requirements for structural steel buildings.
[3] Seismic Provisions for Structural Steel Buildings

Seismic Provisions for Structural Steel Buildings, AISC 341-22 [3], published by the American Institute of Steel Construction, specifies requirements. However, according to AISC 360-22 [2] some structures do not need to meet the requirements of these provisions, as stated below:
